Rosemary Christmas Tree Bread
This has been a hit every time I've made it. It's cute and keeps the portion bite size. Great to serve as an appetizer, with soup or to a potluck during the Christmas season.
Ingredients:
1 can of Pillsbury® Pizza dough (a whole grain artisan dough would best option)
4 oz of 1/3 less fat cream cheese
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1/4 cup Italian or Mozzarella cheese
Fresh Rosemary
3 Tbsp of Tuscan Olive oil or regular Olive Oil
Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 400º
Roll out dough and cut with a pizza cutter into about 33 sqaures. Mix all cheeses together with about a tbsp of fresh rosemary.
Place about a half tbsp onto each dough sqaure. Make a ball with the dough and seal the edges shut so the cheese does not come out. Place on a cookie sheet in the shape of a Christmas tree. Bake for 17 minutes or until golden brown.
After removing from the oven, brush with olive oil and generously sprinkle fresh rosemary on the tree. Serve with a side of marinara sauce.
This is just the right bite size to get a taste but not over indulge on some large piece of cream cheese filled bread.
